Hold tight darling Grab the ropes that bind your feet Nobody knows you’re here with me Silence your heart which slowly beats Be still my darling Feel the darkness as you sleep Bleeding Vision is blurring Screaming Find me, I’m dying Here at the end...of everything Kiss me darling Live forever in this hate Snow is falling A dance of death upon your face Tell me my princess, where do you hide your shame? Bloody darling All your pain has been erased Bleeding Vision is blurring Screaming Find me, I’m dying Here at the end ....of everything.
3.
Driving through a moonless night The road is winding, sadness in her eyes The snow all melts Blood drips from my head It doesn’t hurt me Laura...to see you dead And on the 24th, she’ll be wrapped in plastic buried in a casket disgraced, homecoming queen fire walk with me a man from another place is coming to guide him to the Black Lodge where time and space mean nothing shadowed by the dark of pine trees the air is freezing...and my soul is leaving And on the 24th, she’ll be wrapped in plastic buried in a casket disgraced, homecoming queen fire walk with me will they ever find me? guess I’ll never know when we meet again it won’t be me. it won’t be me. it won't be me.
4.
The coffin walls are rotting and caving in there’s no use in trying to escape this ancient grave of sin the stench of death and soil is overwhelming dried skin like ashes, colorless no blood left running she lies awake at night crying for her dark prince coming to drain her veins all dry sweet mourning screams, painful and bloody Emotionless, succumbing...a pool of red in that dress she’s stunning, harlot of the devil’s every whim in her heart she’s trying to understand her eyes are made of fire, her body turns to sand her body turns to sand she lies awake at night crying for her dark prince coming to drain her veins all dry sweet mourning screams, painful and bloody born of the sickly hand of fate those years she wears upon her face her mind is locked within a cage she dies to live another day kiss me goodbye, ignite the samhain flame kiss me goodbye, blow the ash away
5.
Locked in and sealed tight No sunlight, scents of earth blood from my eyes, cremated cries dreaming of re-birth oh my darling, tell me does it hurt? bewitched by tears, could drown in here while all those candles burn burn midnight, my only friend I don’t know where I’ll run in this tomb, dried blood on my chest I don’t know when the end will come will you see me? when my teeth rip out your throat? one death takes another again before the night is done and I’ve been lost so long, ageless as the earth well I know no fear and I can’t hear her broken heart return the light is fading now, I can’t see her icy breath its been ten long years trapped down in here and I’m just waiting for death death midnight, my only friend I don’t know where I’ll run in this tomb, dried blood on my chest I don’t know when the end will come will you see me? when my teeth rip out your throat? one death takes another again before the night is done

about

"Tales From the Black Lodge" is my first ever solo EP and the first time I've done anything acoustic. I recorded it live with only my voice and an acoustic guitar at Annex Recordings in SLC, UT (with the exception of the solo on Feb. 24th 1989, which was recorded using a 1965 Gibson Les Paul). It was tracked, mixed and mastered by Aaron Dominguez. The production of the record is very minimal, as I intended this EP to have an organic feel and a loneliness which listeners will hopefully identify with. There's no auto tuning. There's no glossy sheen. Just me in a room doing what I do. It's the most honest example of my songwriting I could realistically self produce / independently fund on a shoestring budget. I hope in some way, it inspires others to pick up a guitar and search for their own creativity...perhaps by heading into the woods to seek out those stories which lie in the shadows, and have yet to be told...
